Obtaining the International Driving License:

To obtain the International Driving License, aspiring drivers need to fulfill certain requirements and follow the application process diligently. The necessary documents include an attested copy of the applicant’s passport, two attested passport-sized photographs, three photocopies of a valid CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card), and a photocopy of the applicant’s valid national driving license. Additionally, a medical certificate may be required for applicants aged 50 and above, while a blood group report is mandatory for those applying at Motorway Police.

Application Process:

The application process involves a visit to the concerned Driving License Authority office. Applicants must obtain a token and wait for their turn to complete data entry and undergo an eyesight check-up. Biometric and live camera pictures are also taken for verification purposes. Furthermore, a traffic signs test is administered on computers, with a written scenario-based test applicable specifically at Islamabad Traffic Police. Once all the documents are submitted, applicants proceed to a practical driving test, either using their own vehicle or a provided car, under the supervision of a police officer.

Successfully completing the entire process results in the issuance of the International Driving License. Pakistani drivers can expect to receive their license within approximately one week, allowing them to embark on their international driving adventures. The newfound access to 132 countries offers exciting opportunities for exploration, business travel, and cultural experiences. It empowers Pakistani drivers to navigate foreign road systems confidently and conveniently, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable journey abroad.
